Joint Mobilisation & Manipulation

This technique is often use in manual treatment, as it gently moves, seprates, stretches joints,  and tissues around them.

It is an extension of joint mobilisation.

This technique is characterized by the "click" or "pop" sound. That sound is a result of something called "cavitation".

When a joint manipulation is applied, the therapist "separates" the articular surface of the joint, which reduces the pressure within the joint creating that tipical sound. This is simply due to gas escaping the joint.

A sensation of relief is often felt immediately after the technique.

It is used to unlock joint, help musculoskeletal pain and improve the range of motion.
